Processing time: Feat resistant tempered glass typically takes 10–14 business days to produce. Tempered glass is cut first, then heat-treated in a high-temperature oven and rapidly cooled. Because this process is completed in batches, production takes longer than ceramic glass.

All tempered glass sales are final. Once tempered, the glass cannot be re-cut. Because each order is custom made, tempered glass orders are non-refundable once production begins.

Do Not Use Tempered Glass in Wood Stoves or Fireplace Inserts

Fireplace tempered glass should never be used in an airtight wood stove, pellet stove, coal stove, or fireplace insert where the glass is exposed to direct flame or extreme heat. Tempered glass can typically handle temperatures up to about 450°F, while wood stoves and inserts can exceed 1000°F.

For wood stoves, pellet stoves, coal stoves, and high-heat fireplace inserts, use custom cut ceramic glass instead.

How to Measure for Custom Tempered Glass

1. Remove your old glass, if possible, for the most accurate measurement.
2. Use a metal tape measure for precision.
3. Measure width and height to the nearest 1/16 inch.
4. If measuring the frame opening instead of the old glass, subtract at least 1/8 inch from both width and height to allow for expansion and fit.
5. Double-check all dimensions before ordering. Tempered glass cut to size cannot be returned or re-cut after production.

Warranty & Returns

Total Hearth guarantees your glass will arrive unbroken and made to the specifications provided with your order. If your glass does not match your submitted specifications, contact us within 30 days of your order date.

Tempered fireplace glass orders cannot be returned because each piece is made to order. Returns will not be approved if the glass cracked during installation, cracked after installation, was measured incorrectly, or the return request is made more than 30 days after the original order.
