Why Choose the US Stove 40349 Shaker Grate?
A worn or cracked shaker grate can trap ash, restrict airflow, and reduce furnace efficiency. Replacing it with the OEM 40349 cast iron shaker grate restores proper fuel support, improves ash management, and helps maintain clean, consistent combustion. Built to factory specifications, this grate delivers long-lasting durability and reliable performance for safe heating.
Installation Instructions:
Allow the furnace to cool completely before servicing. Ensure all embers are extinguished and remove ash from the ash pan.
Open the firebox door and locate the shaker grate assembly inside the furnace.
If necessary, disconnect the shaker handle or linkage according to your furnace design.
Carefully lift or slide the existing shaker grate out of the 40369 shaker grate frame. If ash buildup is present, gently rock the grate to free it.
Clean the grate frame and firebox floor to remove ash and debris. Inspect remaining grate sections and the frame for wear or cracking.
Insert the new 40349 cast iron shaker grate into the frame, ensuring the interlocking ends seat properly with adjacent grates.
Reconnect the shaker linkage if removed. Operate the shaker handle to confirm smooth movement and proper ash drop before lighting the furnace.
Reload fuel and resume normal operation.
Installation tip: All shaker grates should move freely together. Binding or uneven movement may indicate incorrect alignment or additional worn components.
