HearthStone Door Gasket Kit – 5/8" x 7ft Graphite Rope Gasket with Adhesive

Restore the proper door seal on your compatible HearthStone wood stove or fireplace with this 5/8" Fiberglass Rope Door Gasket Kit. The kit includes approximately 7 feet of 5/8" graphite-impregnated fiberglass rope gasket along with a 2 oz tube of gasket adhesive for a convenient replacement installation.

Designed for compatible HearthStone applications requiring a 5/8" diameter rope door gasket, this kit provides the material needed to replace old, flattened, frayed, hardened, or deteriorated gasket. HearthStone appliances use different gasket sizes depending on the model, production date, and gasket location, so always verify that your application requires 5/8" rope gasket before ordering.

The flexible fiberglass construction allows the gasket to compress against the mating surface when the door is closed, helping create the proper seal. The graphite-impregnated finish helps reduce sticking while providing a durable gasket surface for high-temperature wood stove and fireplace applications.

Important Fitment Note:
HearthStone has produced many different wood stove, fireplace, and insert models, and different gasket diameters, densities, and gasket styles are used depending on the appliance model and gasket location. Do not assume that every HearthStone door uses a 5/8" gasket.

This kit contains approximately 5/8" diameter round rope gasket. Before ordering, check your HearthStone owner's manual or parts information and compare the diameter and style of your existing gasket with the 5/8" gasket supplied in this kit.

Bennington Model Note:
The HearthStone Bennington 8350 is not a 5/8" door gasket application. HearthStone specifies a different gasket size for the Bennington 8350. If you have a Bennington, verify the required gasket before ordering this 5/8" kit.

If your HearthStone appliance requires a different diameter or gasket style, Total Hearth also offers additional high-temperature rope gasket sizes for compatible applications.

Why Is the Door Gasket Important?
The fiberglass rope gasket creates a compressible seal between the stove door and firebox body. When the door is properly closed and latched, the gasket compresses against the mating surface to help control unwanted air movement around the door.

Over time, repeated heating, cooling, and compression can cause fiberglass gasket material to flatten, harden, fray, shrink, or lose its original shape. Once the gasket can no longer provide adequate compression, replacement may be necessary.

A properly fitted replacement door gasket helps reduce unwanted air leakage and restore the intended door seal on compatible HearthStone appliances.

When Should Your HearthStone Door Gasket Be Replaced?
Consider replacing the gasket if you notice:
• Flattened or excessively compressed gasket material
• Frayed or unraveling fiberglass
• Hardened or brittle gasket sections
• Missing or damaged gasket material
• Gasket pulling away from the door channel
• Visible gaps around the closed door
• Unwanted air leakage around the door
• Door gasket no longer compressing evenly
• Difficulty maintaining a consistent door seal

Installation Tips:
• Allow the stove or fireplace to cool completely before beginning installation
• Note the position and routing of the original gasket before removal
• Carefully remove the old gasket from the door channel
• Remove old adhesive, loose fibers, soot, dirt, and debris from the gasket channel
• Test-fit the new 5/8" rope gasket before applying adhesive
• Apply the included gasket adhesive according to the adhesive manufacturer's instructions
• Press the gasket evenly into the channel without excessively stretching it
• Work gradually around corners and curves
• Trim the gasket to the required finished length
• Butt the gasket ends together neatly without overlapping them
• Allow the adhesive to cure according to the instructions before operating the appliance

Important – Do Not Stretch Rope Gasket:
Avoid stretching the rope gasket during installation. Stretching can reduce the effective diameter of the gasket and may prevent the 5/8" rope from providing the proper compression after the door is closed.

Check Your Door Seal:
After installation and proper adhesive curing, verify that the door closes and latches correctly and that the gasket makes consistent contact around the sealing surface.

A simple paper test can help identify areas with inadequate gasket compression. Close the appliance door on a strip of paper at several points around the perimeter. There should be noticeable resistance when attempting to pull the paper free.

Important Installation Note:
Always follow the gasket replacement instructions provided for your specific HearthStone appliance. The correct gasket diameter, density, location, and compression are important for proper stove operation.

Do not substitute 5/8" gasket for a different factory-specified gasket size simply because it fits into the gasket channel. An oversized or undersized gasket can affect how the door closes, latches, and seals.

Why Choose This HearthStone 5/8" Door Gasket Kit?
This convenient replacement kit provides approximately 7 feet of 5/8" graphite-impregnated fiberglass rope gasket along with a 2 oz tube of gasket adhesive, giving you the materials needed to replace worn door gasket on compatible HearthStone wood stove and fireplace applications.
